Guardian

"Guardian" is a prequel, if you will, to my new series of life size figure paintings capturing moments. "When She Realized"... that she was her own Gaurdian everything changed. I painted this looking down into a mirror one night. It was dark behind me but the reflection of the light created a halo effect. With new insight I approached this painting with fresh eyes the next morning. "When She Realized" became the "Gaurdian". The meaning for me is fixed in the moment of this painting and the personal epiphany that accompanied it.
