Twice Checked

Santa sits checking his list in his gloved hand before his yearly flight. Checking it for the second time. While the beautiful toys from a simpler time remain left behind, even forgotten. They become the focus of this painting. Perhaps due to my longing for those carefree days of my childhood and the magic that always accompanied the Christmas season.
