Intensional Focused Learning Process explained

Krystal Brown

*Intentional Focused Learning*

I'm honored that you have chosen to learn from me and I am so excited to share with you all the knowledge,  techniques, thought processes, and tools that I employ in the creative process.

To help you get the most out of this workshop and to avoid the post workshop overload crash, here are some pre workshop questions and info designed to get you ready mentally and physically.

As you think about these things you will be better prepared to receive exactly what you need from our time together.  You will be TUNED IN to what will help you in the creation of your unique art.

I am so excited about this process because I know it works.

I'll walk you through it so take the time to do the assignments and trust that it will work.

As you open yourself up to the experiment and take it to heart you’ll be delighted in how it transforms your learning. You’ll move seamlessly into the creation of your own unique art and what you will bring to the world.

Here’s the practice I implement before any workshop/group instruction to accelerate my learning and retention.  It also is the key to avoiding the post workout crash/paralysis.

PART ONE

Set aside 20 minutes where you can be uninterrupted and alone with your thoughts.

Record yourself as you ask and answer the questions below.  This is only for you.

Have something to write with and something to write on.

Set a timer for 8 minutes and start.

  1. Ask yourself these questions: What do I love about my art?  What is working right now?  What am I proud of?  What do others love about my art? And record your answers.

When the timer goes off finish your train of thought and STOP.

  1. Review what you’ve recorded. Highlight/write down what jumps out at you as you do this.  Notice how you feel.

  1. Fill in the blanks below to create a statement based on what you’ve learned from the questions and answers above.

I am loving how I am able to successfully __________________________ in my art right now and the feeling of ____________________________________that comes with it’s creation.

This seemingly simple statement is always evolving and changing.  If you can zero in on what’s working for you now and how it feels, it gives you a springboard for your learning and confidence in your ability.

PART TWO

Set aside 20 minutes where you can be uninterrupted and alone with your thoughts.

Record yourself on your smartphone.

Have something to write with and something to write on.

Set a timer for 8 minutes and start.

  1. Ask yourself these questions to determine where you need help:  Where am I struggling with my painting? Where is my art falling short?  What would make my art more successful?  What is the most frustrating thing about the creation of my art?

When the timer goes off finish your train of thought and STOP.

  1. Review what you've recorded. Highlight/write down what jumps out at you as you do this.  Notice how you feel.

  1. Fill in the blanks below to create a statement based on what you’ve learned from the above questions and answers.

I am looking for help from Krystal with ___________________________ in my painting so I can confidently and consistently  __________________________________________________  with my art .

This statement is always evolving and changing just like your confidence statement.  The more specific and direct your statement, the more focused your attention and learning will be when we are together.

If you have trouble with either statement and getting specific I’m happy to talk you through it.  Just ask.  I’m looking forward to our time together and know you will get exactly what you need to level up your art.
